SilverAlloy Cd-50
Nominal Chemical
Composition
INTRODUCTION
Aufhauser SilverAlloy Cd-50 with Cadmium has a narrower melting range than SilverAlloy Cd-45, making it slightly more free-flowing. Due to higher silver content, it also has more resistance to corrosion in chlorine, sulfur and steam environments. Cd-50 may be used where low-temperature, free-flowing filler metals are desired. This filler metal contains cadmium.
APPLICATIONS
Aufhauser SilverAlloy Cd-50 is used for joining most ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Cd-50 has good brazing properties and is suitable either for pre-placement in the joint or for manual feeding into the joint. Although lap joints generally are used, butt joints may be used if requirements are less stringent. Joint clearances of 0.001 to 0.005 in. (0.025 to 0.127 mm) are recommended for proper capillary action.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Caution! Contains cadmium. Fumes are poisonous and can kill. Provide adequate ventilation and do not inhale gases and fumes. Read and understand American National Standard Z49.1, "Safety in Welding and Cutting" available from the American Welding Society. The use of brazing fillers containing cadmium may be restricted or banned in certain areas. |
