Brazing and Soldering of Stainless Steel Components
Brazing and soldering of stainless steel pipes and tubes
Brazed joints made in stainless steel and subsequently exposed to water or water vapor can be prone to interfacial corrosion which causes failure of the joints. Using a special silver brazing filler metal is one solution to avoiding the problems of interfacial corrosion in stainless steel components. Aufhauser recommends that its customers consult our technical department in detail on this subject in order to avoid the problem. Further technical information is available under 'Frequently Asked Questions'.

Brazing of stainless steel gauze
Brazed stainless steel gauze is used in specialized papermaking applications such as paper that needs to be water-marked. It is also used in chemical plants such as in catalyst catchment gauzes. Joints made in these environments must be resistant to chemical corrosion in their operating environment.
