Al-43 Aluminum Electrode
Nominal Chemical
Composition
INTRODUCTION
Aufhauser AL-43 Electrode is designed for DC (reverse polarity) arc welding of aluminum and aluminum alloys. An extruded coating makes this the smoothest aluminum electrode now commercially available. Aufhauser AL-43 Electrode contains approximately 5% silicon, which provides superior fluidity at welding temperatures. For this reason, it is preferred for general purpose welding. AL-43 weld metal has fair ductility and a minimum tensile strength of 14,000 psi. This electrode produces a smooth weld bead on flat, fillet or vertical jobs. Arc action has very low spatter and is smooth. Slag is easily removed.
APPLICATIONS
Welding the 6XXX series aluminum alloys, the 5XXX series aluminum alloys, and aluminum-silicon casting alloys, as well as aluminum base metals 1100, 1350 (EC), and 3003.
