Mild Steel Alloys and Wires
Aufhauser carbon steel filler metals are produced to exacting compliance with the standards of AWS A5.18.
| ER70S-2 | A premium, multiple deoxidized, wire. Produces high quality welds in most grades of carbon steels. |
| ER70S-3 | Aufhauser ER70S-3 electrodes and rods are low carbon steels for gas shielded arc welding. It is intended for welding single-pass and multi-pass welds. Typical base metal specifications are ASTM A36, A285-C, A515-55 and A516-70. |
| ER70S-6 | Aufhauser ER70S-6 electrodes and rods are low carbon steels with higher manganese and silicon content than 70S-3. This alloy is used where smooth weld beads and low spatters are desired (e.g. sheet metal applications). Aufhauser ER70S-6 process superior mechanical properties and bead appearance. With higher deposit strengths and added de-oxidation elements, ER70S-6 is best for welding over rust and scale or welding of rimmed steels. Good for out-of-position welding using short-circuiting transfer. |

Note: Single values shown are maximum. (1) The maximum weight of copper due to any coating plus the residual copper content in the steel shall be 0.50. (2) Other elements (Ni, Cr, Mo and V) may be present as trace residuals and collectively are not to exceed 0.50. (3) Maximum Mn may exceed 2.0%; if so, the maximum C must be reduced 0.01% for each 0.05% increase in Mn or part thereof.
