SHIELDING GAS CONSIDERATIONS
GTAW (TIG) - Manual AC welding. Argon gas gives good stability. For heavier sections add helium for increased arc penetration. Helium requires higher gas flow rates.
GMAW (MIG) - Spray Transfer. Argon gas gives excellent cleaning action. May add helium to aid filler metal flow and for deeper arc penetration. Don't use pure helium.
NOTE: If oxyacetylene is used, employ a neutral or slightly reducing flame and Aufhauser Flux900. Remove flux residue with hot water.
